St. Lawrence Day 2007 - Aug 04, 2007
 

TORCH LIGHT PARADE

On Friday, August 3, 2007, starting from the Fire Hall at 9:00 p.m., we will be having our traditional torch light parade.  Once again, we will be having the wiener roast on Mannix Causeway.  The St. Lawrence Volunteer Fire Brigade has arranged for a bonfire and kids are asked to bring their own food and enjoy until it concludes at approximately 11:00 p.m.  “COME OUT AND ENJOY”

ST. LAWRENCE DAY ACTIVITIES

On Saturday, August 4, 2007, St. Lawrence Day will start at 10:00 a.m. with a float parade.  The parade coordinated by the St. Lawrence Volunteer Fire Brigade and led by the RCMP will start in the area of the Stella Maris parking lot and proceed around the regular route ending at Laurentian Place.  We encourage all organizations and residents to decorate their vehicles and become part of the activities.

Children are encouraged to decorate their bikes and join in the parade.

Mannix Causeway will be closed to all vehicular traffic during the parade and opening ceremonies.

At approximately 11:00 a.m. the Opening Ceremonies will take place at Laurentian Playground where a Best Float award will be presented as well as all other participants will be recognized for their participation and contribution to the festivities.

“LET THE FUN BEGIN”

BOOTHS

The booths will be organized on Laurentian Place parking lot.  There will be the usual variety – punch box, spin tickets, money tree, fish pond, balloon darts, moose burgers, candy apples, hot dogs, jumping castle and much, much more. 

Any person/group interested in operating a booth is asked to register by Thursday, August 2, 2007 by calling the Town Hall at 873-2222.

CHALLENGE CUP SOCCER GAME

At 4:00 p.m., the Laurentians will host Mount Pearl in a Challenge Cup soccer game.

We extend a big invite to all residents to participate and enjoy the fun and activities.
