The Town of St. Lawrence, Newfoundland is in preparation for the potential reactivation of the fluorspar mines. The reactivation of the fluorspar mines in St. Lawrence could create 370 positions at its peak construction phase and will continue to employ a possible 180 permanently. Due to the massive nature of this project and other large projects that are expected in the area, we require a solid inventory of skills available on the Burin Peninsula to help fill the positions that will become available with these projects.
For this purpose, the St. Lawrence Labour Market Office is conducting some research to aid in an analysis of the availability of labour on the Burin Peninsula. To conduct this research we have created a Labour Market Research Form. We ask that all residents over the age of 16 complete it and forward it to the Town of St. Lawrence (see address below) by August 31/2009.
Please answer the questions in the space provided as accurately as possible. This form is completely anonymous and for privacy protection, any form that makes reference to an individual will not be included in this study and will be destroyed.
By participating in this research, you help to secure a prosperous future on the Burin Peninsula.
