LAURENTIANS:

I call St. Lawrence my true home
It is forever in mind's reach.
From the very cap of Chapareau,
To the sands of clear Blue Beach

How"oft I walked to Chamber Cove
To where the sea bird frolics,
Perched on top the wooden cross,
The tribute to Truxtun and Pollux

The names we give to local places
Show we really have no cares,
For nowhere else in Newfoundland
Will you find the name "Hare's Ears".

Let us now walk by the Harbour Shore,
Home of small boats and long liners,
They have kept our way of life alive,
Along with our Noble Miners.

And a cheer for our Laurentian teams,
"On to victory" was the motto,
How often had I prayed for them
At the foot of Our Lady's Grotto.

So be proud to be Laurentian,
Thank God to be alive,
We are blessed to be here to celebrate,
Mardi Gras two thousand and five.
